What We Collect

Reed’s dictation runs on your Mac. This page lists every connection the app makes, what each one carries, and where you control it. It describes the current free release of Reed for Mac.

Never, regardless of any setting: your audio, your transcripts, or the text Reed writes into your apps. The dictation pipeline is blocked from the network in the free release. Reed has no account, so nothing is tied to a name, email, or device ID.

Diagnostics you control

Two optional streams, each with its own switch in Reed → Settings → Privacy.

Usage analytics (when on)

Sent to Aptabase, hosted in the EU.

Crash reports (when on)

Sent to Sentry.

Connections that are not diagnostics

These carry no dictation content and are not affected by the Privacy switches.
